May 2009 - Mint-Cucumber Cocktail Back to Drink of the Month Well, it's warming up here in Vancouver, so it is time to start thinking about summer drinks. I just planted all my annual flowers/plants on the May long weekend, and also planted some English Mint. Today, while browsing through the Courier I found this recipe for a summer cocktail: 2 oz Gin 4 oz tonic water 1/2 oz fresh lime juice 3 mint sprigs 2 slices cucumber Muddle 1 slice cucumber and 2 sprigs mint in a highball glass. Fill with ice. Add gin, tonic and lime juice. Stir and garnish with a cucumber slice. I find tonic too sweet so I will be trying this with soda water. Enjoy the warm weather and a summer cocktail! |
